Exercise 1
International Typographic Style
For this exercise
I have collected some contemporary designs that follow the International
Typographic Style, also known as the Swiss style. Some of the characteristics
that define ITS are; unifying the design by achieving asymmetrical organization
of elements on a mathematically constructed grid. Objective photography and
copy that present visual and verbal information in a clear and factual manner. The
intention of this movement believed that sans-serif typography expressed a more
progressive age and that mathematical grids are most legible and harmonious
means for structuring information.
